2024 Bg3 split screen crashing

My boyfriend and I are attempting to play bg3 on split-screen local multiplier. We have experienced almost constant hard crashing to the point that we can barely play the game. Is this happening to anyone else? It's really frustrating and sapping a lot of the enjoyment of our first hours.. Male short dreadlocks

Then after that, we FINALLY managed to get it to start and we have constant freezing up and having to force close (but definitely no crash log, nope).
